HPN (High Performance Netting)

This is a high-performance single-twist netting (HPN: High Performance Netting).

It comes in the form of a 50 x 50 mm lozenge-shaped mesh. This close mesh helps to hold small stones. The netting is woven from 4.6 mm diameter galvanised wire (tensile strength = 550 – 600 N/mm²). On request, it can be woven with Galfan-coated wire. HPN netting is provided with knotted ends.

Tests carried out by the soil and tunnels department of Montan Universität at Loeben, Austria, have demonstrated the extreme strength of this netting as it is higher than that of all single-twist products (normal or high-strength steel) currently on the market.

Examples of application:

• stabilisation of surface landslides, with reinforcement by anchor nails,
• use as interception panels for low-energy rockfall barriers.
