Hanging netting
The sheet of netting is hung. It is anchored at the top of the slope and hung against it. The netting guides detached rocks to the foot of the area. On inclined slopes, unstable rocks that are held by the weight of the sheet stabilise the ground and may help vegetation to gain hold.At the bottom, the netting may be:
- left free to hang, but there is a risk of it lifting,
- held by a horizontal cable (generally 12 mm in diameter) fixed to anchors,
- weighted by steel bars, tubes or concrete ballast.
