HIGH RESISTANCE WIRE MESH 3STUTOR® PLUS

The 3STUTOR® PLUS range of high resistance mesh is an alternative solution to conventional methods in slope stabilization. Features include high mechanical performance ensuring project durability and a lightweight factor facilitating the installation process on the slope. The nettings can be combined with an erosion control mat and landscaped so that the site blends in with the environment.

 

3STUTOR® PLUS wire nettings constitute a genuine top rate alternative to the high-strength wire-nettings currently available on the market. The performance of 3STUTOR® PLUS is higher and, as there is a wide range of nettings to choose from, the 3STUTOR® PLUS wire-nettings can be used in new applications designed by a customized software.

 

DEVELOPED FOR SLOPE STABILIZATION

 

Chaque problématique de stabilisation de pente est différente avec des contraintes plus ou moins fortes pour des terrains meubles ou de rochers altérés. Partant de ce constat, AVAROC a fait le choix de proposer un grillage spécifique à chaque situation et limiter les coûts du projet.

 

En plus d’offrir une large gamme, le grillage 3STUTOR® PLUS, par sa conception, garantit un très faible allongement. En condition de travail, ce faible allongement procure au grillage une déformation extrêmement réduite. Cet avantage permet de mieux transmettre la poussée des terres aux ancrages de confortement tout en limitant les effets de « ventre ». Cette particularité unique garantie des résultats inégalés en confinement de matériaux et de lutte contre l’érosion sur les talus à traiter. En fonction des contraintes du site et des efforts à reprendre le grillage sera associé à des ancrages de confortement équipés :

• Soit de plaques d’ancrages à griffes,

• Soit avec des câbles de renfort horizontaux associés à des plaques d’ancrages spécifiques. Cette solutions est adaptée pour reprendre des efforts encore plus importants et peut remplacer des parois clouées dans certains cas.

 

HIGH PERFORMANCE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES

 

3STUTOR® PLUS high strength wire-nettings are designed to meet mechanical properties in relation with the specificity of the slope in need of stabilization. Being able to select a wire with a specific ductility and the manner in which the mesh is woven is a guarantee that the mechanical properties of these high strength wire-nettings are superior to the other wire-nettings currently available on the market.

The entire range of 3STUTOR® PLUS wire-nettings has undergone stringent tensile strengths and punching tests in order to guarantee high performance mechanical properties. All tests were carried out in independent testing laboratories according to a specific protocol, replicating the genuine performance of 3STUTOR® PLUS wire-nettings installed on unstable slopes.

 

EXCELLENT CORROSION PROTECTION

 

The 3STUTOR® PLUS wire-nettings are woven with a high strength Galfan (Aluminium-Zinc) wire “class A” in order to guarantee long-lasting protection against corrosion. With a zinc mass of 280gr/m2, 3STUTOR® PLUS mesh protection against corrosion is higher than the requirements of the European Norm EN 10244-2

 

DESIGN

 

3STUTOR® PLUS wire-nettings are suited to all types of slope stabilization issues. The 3STUTOR® PLUS range is suited to all types of slope stabilization issues. An understanding of the specificity of each project (soil pressure, type of materials to be contained…) and sizing help in the selecting of the appropriate type of high-strength wire-netting required.

 

The mathematical study of theoretical models combined with stringent laboratory testing and feed-back from on-site projects have led to the developing of a highly efficient design software.

Based on a geotechnical model, this design software is able to process 2 types of slope instability:

 

- Local instabilities between soil nails,

- Global instability including a sliding of an unstable layer of soil, following a landslide circle.

 

 

INSTALLATION

 

The 3STUTOR® PLUS wire-nettings are available in standard lengths of 16.70 (50 m2) or 33.40 m (100 m2). One roll of 3STUTOR® PLUS can therefore cover a large area, which speeds up and eases the installation process.

 

Prior to installing the 3STUTOR® PLUS wire-nettings, the slope must be cleared but no major earth works are required before the high resistance mesh is installed on the slope. The wire-netting adapts to the morphology of the slope and confines unstable materials. For optimal protection against erosion AVAMAT long lasting erosion control mats can be installed, covered with top soil and sown.
